SODEX has been held since 2000 and was organized by Hannover Messe Sodeks Fuarcılık A.Ş., a joint venture of Hannover Messe GmbH in Turkey, and received the Iskind, Turkey Association of Insulation, Waterproofing, Sound Insulation and Fireproof Material Manufacturers. Supported by various professional groups such as (iZODER), the Turkish Society of Refrigeration Air-Conditioning and Sanitary Engineers (TTMD) and the Turkish Gas Equipment Manufacturers Association (Dosider), it is the third largest HVAC professional exhibition in the world. The previous 2014 Sodex exhibited an area of 51,211 square meters with 883 direct exhibitors from 37 countries around the world. The number of visitors reached 80756, which came from 84 countries and regions in the world. The internationalization of the exhibition was evident.
In terms of markets, Turkey has always attracted global attention with its unique geographical locations (located on the confluence of Europe, Asia and non-three continents), a young population structure and a vibrant economy. Turkey is the 17th largest economy in the world and the 6th largest economy in Europe. Over the past five years, Turkey’s economic growth ranks among the highest in the world, ranking seventh in the world in terms of growth rate, with an average annual growth rate of 7.3%. In the HVAC (cooling, air-conditioning, ventilation and heating) field, its growth rate is more than four times the overall economic growth rate. At present, Turkey has gradually become a manufacturing base for the HVAC industry in Europe and the Near East and is moving toward professional services, engineering contracting and innovation. In the area of construction project contracting, Turkey’s strength is even more impressive. Among the world’s 225 largest engineering contractors, Turkey has 20 seats, ranking second only to the United States and China.
